Pest Watch

Our main focus at this time of year is fugus disease, especially on roses.  Fungus problems can completely defoliate roses if not treated.  Powdery mildew is also prevelent on Bee Balm, Phlox, and Lilacs.  Some products to combat these issues are Fungus Pharm, Rose Pharm, neem oil, compost tea.  Remember to remove any diseased leaves before spraying the plant.

Plant of Interest - Limelight Hydrangea

An exciting new hardy hydrangea, Limelight has unique bright green blooms in mid-summer that turn white.  Limelight is a show-stopper and loaded with flowers that turn pink in the fall.  Limelight makes an excellent cut flower and is drought tolerant.  It is best when planted in full sun to part shade and grows to a height of five to six feet.  It will take severe pruning in the fall and can be kept to a desired size.

Lawn Care Update
